If you travel to Bucharest city by plane, you will probably land in Henri Coanda International Airport also known as Otopeni Airport OTP.
Getting from Bucharest airport to city center hotel or residence can be achieved by different means of transportation. Let’s take a look at some of them.
Otopeni airport is connected to Bucharest city center by tow Express bus line 780 & 783. The airport bus station is in front of arrival terminal. In order to get there you must be at the ground floor of the terminal.
Also the tickets can be purchased from the kiosk located next to the bus station. A one-way ticket for the 783 bus to Unirii Square (final station in city center) or 780 bus to Central train station (Gara de Nord) costs 0.85€. Depending on traffic conditions the transfer can take between 1 and 1,5 hours and is available 24/7.

When you arrive in Bucharest airport you will notice that you can not go outside the terminal and pick-up a cab. First of all, after you exit the security area, on the left side of the arrivals hall, you need to find the taxi order machines. From the screen choose a taxi company and you will receive a ticket with de number of the taxi that is allocated for your ride. With your ticket you must go outside and wait for your taxi to arrive. There is a line of taxi cabs waiting for their clients in front of the terminal.
All taxi cabs in Bucharest are yellow and the fare is listed on the side of the vehicles.
Taxi fare differs from company to company and is listed when you make the order. You will be charged per km (distance). Probably for a city center transfer you will pay between 15 to 25 EUR. Don’t forget to have Romanian LEI (RON) because you can’t pay in EUR.
You can also pre-book your transfer from Otopeni airport to Bucharest city center. This means that you can choose the type of car that you need, sedan or minivan, and make the reservation days before your traveling date. Moreover, your driver will greet you inside arrival terminal.
